Hi guys,

I’m Samantha and I come from another world – the original, old Silvery Earth, where people are immortal and never grow up. When I’m not switching bodies at will, I travel to other universes, especially books or movies. That’s how I met Rajveer the vampire, for example!

So, I’m taking over the interviews on this blog! And here I am, meeting people from other books/universes/whatever!

We’re still on the new Silvery Earth! Still exploring those Quests books! They don’t have that much to do, do they? Why are they always looking for something anyway? Let’s ask them!

Hello, young lady. Tell me a little about yourself.

I’m Sayla, I’m nineteen, my mother Talulla is a maimed Sila. I have inherited the keen Sila eyesight and I’m the best archer in town.

I think we met your mother in the first book, but you were but a wee little girl back then… I don’t suppose you remember three people passing by? A gorgeous warrior with turquoise eyes, a brooding beau of a magic user and a blonde healer? No? Thought not… It was fifteen years ago for you, after all! Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Petite, light brown hair, blue eyes.

Do you have an enemy or nemesis? If so, who are they and how they become an enemy?

No, well, let’s say I ran away from Inex when I discovered that my mother cut my wings at birth. I mean, my MOTHER maimed me, can you believe it?

Not very motherly, but then, she’s not Human, is she? Although being maimed herself… why would she do the same to you? Anyway, would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

I hated everyone after discovering my mother’s betrayal. Well, except Keenan. He’s the only friend I have.

Mmm… do I smell a relationship here? If so, what it is about him that you find appealing?

Not really, not yet, but I know Keenan adores me and when I’m ready, he’ll be there.

Sweet! Lucky gal! Where do you live?

I was born in Inex, a city-state on the northern coast of Varia, an lived there until I ran away to go looking for the Sila nests after my mother told me of the maiming.

What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Finding the Sila nests and reaching them without wings. I’ll need help from eagles and dwarves to succeed.

Do you have a family? Tell me about them. Besides your Sila mother, I mean.

She married my father Myckim who comes from the south. I have an elder brother, Sanylo, but he’s an asshole.

And you just left them all behind… so let’s hear the young man now. Tell me a little about yourself!

I’m Keenan, the tanner’s son, and I’m twenty. I grew yp with Sayla and I’ve been silently in love with her for years.

Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Blond and blue-eyed, like most northerners…

What is your role in the story?

I follow her when she runs away, then help her in her quest. One day I hope to give her wings.

What is your relationship with her, then?

We’re childhood friends, she’s my Wonder Girl.

Well, I wish you both to find what you’re looking for and live happily ever after! If you, the reader, what to know more about these two, go and get The Path of Air (Quests Book 3)! Now available also in Quests Volume 1 with The Path of Water.

After talking to Hinrik and Bellinda, I’m here with two guys who also appear in the Quests books… Soo, let’s start with the non-Human looking of the two! Tell me a little about yourself.

RAYKIM I’m half-Sila and half-Fajrulo. My bronze skin comes from my Sila mother, my yellow eyes, blue hair and blue bat-like wings from my Fajrulo father. I’m very young and very lonely… until I meet my cousin, here, and his friends.

SAMANTHA Okay, joint interview, then. Tell me a little about yourself, mister.

KENEITH I’m half-blood and inherited some magic from my Fajrulo mother, as well as quite a long life. If I were completely Human, I’d look like an old man by now.

RAYKIM While he looks in his prime! Isn’t my cousin handsome?

SAMANTHA Indeed. And he can do real magic. Although some say playing with fire is dangerous.

KENEITH Not for Fire’s half-bloods. I’ll have to teach something to my little cousin at some point.

SAMANTHA Do you have an enemy or nemesis?

BOTH No.

RAYKIM I’ve been isolated for so long… I don’t know anyone!

KENEITH I move around a lot to hide my slow aging and I don’t have relationships.

SAMANTHA Uhm… I think Bellinda mentioned a history between the two of you…

KENEITH History, correct. We’re just friends now. And she has a crush on Hinrik.

SAMANTHA *chuckle* Well, I can’t blame her! Anyway, seems you’ve found someone as long-lived as you are!

KENEITH And I’m trying to get rid of him, but Bellinda and Hinrik don’t want me to.

RAYKIM *pouts* Hinrik is much nicer than you!

KENEITH *rolls eyes* Then stick to him and leave me alone.

SAMANTHA I believe Hinrik might soon get busy breeding, which is something Raykim isn’t considering yet! Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

KENEITH I don’t love anyone. And I have killed, if only to stay alive myself.

RAYKIM Uhm… I’ve never killed. I’m not sure I could. And I don’t know about dying. I’m sure Hinrik could protect me anyway.

KENEITH *scoffs* Yeah, the half-Waiora can fight, and probably die for you, but you should remember you are more powerful and should do the fighting.

RAYKIM *anguished* But I don’t know how!

KENEITH If you stop whining, I’ll teach you.

SAMANTHA Neither of you is involved in a relationship, I take?

KENEITH Raykim is too young, as for me… I don’t fall in love. It’s a Fajrulo trait, I’m told.

SAMANTHA So I’ve heard. I guess you don’t care about your birth family either. So what is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

RAYKIM *shivers* Meeting my father…

KENEITH Saving his ass from his father.

*Raykim glares at him*

RAYKIM With Hinrik and Bellinda’s help!

KENEITH *snorts* Whatever!

SAMANTHA Well, thank you, guys. I shall leave you to your adventures. The Path of Fire (Quests Book 2) covers quite a lot of time, considering how long-lived these two are…

Hi guys,
I’m Samantha and I come from another world – the original, old Silvery Earth, where people are immortal and never grow up. When I’m not switching bodies at will, I travel to other universes, especially books or movies. That’s how I met Rajveer the vampire, for example!

So, I’m taking over the interviews on this blog! And here I am, meeting people from other books/universes/whatever!

And we’re finally off that darn new Silvery Earth! It’s a brand new world! No, universe! No, wait… let’s hear it from these people here.

Hello, there! Tell me a little about yourself!

NAMTAR: I am Corporal Namtar, serving under Maharani Uma and Commander Kartikeya in their fight to secure freedom for the people of Yuanshi. The events chronicled in City Of Deceit took us somewhat out of our comfort zone, into a world where politics is played out by double agents and interstellar battleships. Naturally, I relied on my wits, charm and intelligence to survive. Unlike the man next to me.

INARI: I’m Private Inari and I work with him. I ain’t one for using wits but I am good at shooting things. I was a corporal once, for almost five whole minutes.

Wow, what a pair! Let’s play a game! Describe each other’s appearance in ten words or less!

NAMTAR: My colleague is a fat Greek slob from the gutter.

INARI: Namtar is a stuck-up lanky Russian who talks rubbish.

Tee-hee! You guys are weird! Anyhow, what is your role in the story?

NAMTAR: As you may know, author Ms Bennion is steadily chronicling the heady events of the last decades of the twenty-third century, where humanity has learned to cross the cosmos and reach the nearby stars.

I’m glad it’s someone else from that crazy Silvery Earth author and I hope she treats her characters well – unlike another author of a vampire series who likes to maim and kill off her characters! Tell me more about her books!

NAMTAR: In her latest book, City Of Deceit, followers of the late Maharaja are fighting for independence on the terraformed moon of Yuanshi in the Epsilon Eridani system: a battle against the security forces of the Que Qiao Corporation, which cares only for profits as it harvests Yuanshi’s wealth on behalf of governments on Earth. The story sees us accompanying the widowed Maharani Uma to Earth to take Yuanshi’s plea for independence to the United Nations. Nothing goes as planned, all the players are double-crossing everyone else and we end up fighting for our lives aboard one of the first ever space battleships. As you might expect, my role involves a lot of clever subterfuge and quick thinking to save the day.

INARI: I did stuff too. I liked the lightning-ball cannon. Being space pirates was cool.

Battleships and space pirates! Wow! So what is your relationship with the protagonist?

NAMTAR: The main protagonist of City Of Deceit is Raja Surya, Maharani Uma’s son and the young heir to the throne of Yuanshi. The story follows the trials and tribulations faced by the Maharani in London, as seen through the eyes of Surya and his friend Zotz Wak from the hollow moon. The young Raja is quite headstrong and more than capable of getting himself and others into trouble. The author’s first book, Hollow Moon, chronicled how we kidnapped Surya so he could stand with Commander Kartikeya at a peace conference, though I assure you our intentions were honourable. The safety of the Raja is paramount. We do what we can to serve.

INARI: The Raja wanted to go to Earth so I smuggled us both aboard the shuttle. The Maharani called me an idiot. Ravana’s friend Zotz came with us to the floating village in London.

I love those Indian-sounding names! Did you know I met an Indian vampire? I wanted to keep him, but he preferred to go back to Earth. *sigh* But I digress!! Where do you live, what is your world called, etc.?

NAMTAR: Our service to Maharani Uma and Commander Kartikeya demands that we operate from the rebel city of Lanka on Yuanshi. Before the war, the Maharani resided in the capital Ayodhya, which was much more to my tastes. Kubera Palace in Lanka has seen better days. Civil war does put a dampener on the finer things in life.

INARI: We get about a bit. I hate sleeping on spaceships.

What’s wrong with spaceships cabins and bunk beds? *mutters to herself* Will have to interview more spacefaring people! *grins at guests* Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

INARI: I had a girlfriend once. Hujing, back at the mining village where I grew up on Taotie. Then Namtar arrived and spoiled everything. I ended up in jail.

Men! They only bring trouble, don’t they? *snorts*

NAMTAR: My fat friend here had just stolen a military Local Ambient Megastructure Projector, an interrogation device that projected hypnotic illusions. She would have not have fallen for a lazy lump of lard like him otherwise.

Mmm… yeah, whatever… What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

NAMTAR: There were some hairy moments aboard the dreadnaught as I recall. Events were somewhat complicated by crazy cyberclones and giant alien spiders. Walking in Earth’s gravity was quite a challenge in itself after a lifetime on low-gravity worlds. Especially seeing as I had been wounded by an imbecile with a harpoon.

INARI: That was an accident, honest.

You guys are the best frenemies I ever met! *grin* Do you have a moral code?

NAMTAR: As a devotee to the Dhusarian Church of Yuanshi, I believe that true wisdom will be delivered by the galactic travellers known as the greys. All we can do is prepare the way so that humankind is ready to receive this gift.

INARI: Moral code? Big guns are good.

*burst out laughing* Careful with those guns! You might shoot yourself in the foot! Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

NAMTAR: I played a role in a fairy tale somewhat reminiscent of Cinderella. Hanuman and Ganesa, the crew of the rebel freighter Sun Wukong, first met at the annual American Christmas Ball in Lanka. It was I who procured their invitations.

INARI: He ain’t been no fairy godfather to me.

Would you really want him to be your fairy godfather, though? Time’s almost up! What 2 or 3 questions do you wish I’d asked and what are your answers to them?

NAMTAR: Maybe a question on whether we will appear in future tales by the author? Our involvement in this saga of interstellar chicanery certainly does not end with the events chronicled in City Of Deceit. Of course, Ms Bennion may decide that publishing further exploits of Inari’s contagious stupidity is too much for discerning readers. While you’re at it, could you ask Inari to stop picking his nose?

INARI: I was going to ask about lunch. Do we get one with these interviews?

Mmm, lunch? Why not? I have this prolific hand that can produce anything… *waves her left hand* Do you need a menu to choose or do you already know what you want?

ebook_cod(vh)_reducedCity Of Deceit (Hollow Moon #3) by Steph Bennion

Raja Surya, young heir to the throne of the moon of Yuanshi, cannot stay out of trouble for long. Zotz Wak, intrepid boy inventor otherwise known as The Flying Fox, decides Earth is the place to become a man. Together they must battle the dystopian darkness of 23rd-century London: a city of deceit, under the thumb of corporations, its people barricaded behind flood walls, bewitched by the hypnotic holoverse and worse.

The United Nations is deciding the fate of Surya’s world. The Que Qiao Corporation is using the threat of alien monsters to call for war. Ravana O’Brien, the heroine of their previous adventures, is stricken with a mystery illness and her hollow moon home has problems of its own.

Surya never thought he would be in the captain’s chair aboard the first ever interstellar battleship. Zotz never expected to find himself accused of being a spy and terrorist at the centre of political skulduggery in London. The far-flung worlds of the five systems would never be the same again. Taranis, the dark priest of destiny, has returned.

AUTHOR BIO

Steph Bennion was born and bred in the Black Country, spent too many years in the big bad city that is London and now lives in Hastings, a very nice town by the seaside. Her books are written as a reaction to the dearth of alternative heroes amidst young adult bookshelves swamped by tales of the supernatural. For every aspiring vampire or wizard, she believes that the world needs an astrophysicist, an engineer, or at the very least someone who will one day work out how to make trains run on time.

We’re still on the new Silvery Earth! That’s a batch of old and new characters in this novel…

Hello, handsome! Tell me a little about yourself.

I’m Hinrik, I’m twenty-five and I’m enrolled in the Salamar army. We marched off to protect Moriana from the Varian attack, but we failed.

Bummer. You do look like a defeated soldier… Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Well-built warrior with chestnut brown hair and turquoise eyes.

Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

I don’t know. My mother is dead and I don’t have anyone left. I fight out of duty and respect for my captain.

Mmm… you forgot to mention the melancholy of your eyes! Where do you live?

Salamar, capital of the Salamar Kingdom, on the shores of the great river Ondan.

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what it is about them that you find appealing?

It’s unrequited love and I don’t want to talk about it.

Man, I must say you’re handsome even when you brood! So what is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Survive rape and finding self-respect. And my true calling.

Do you have a family? Tell me about them.

My mother was a washerwoman. I was her only child. She never married after breeding with a “demon” and was cast out by everyone. She said my father was a “magical being” who lived in the river, but I never believed her.

Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

I have these turquoise eyes and water seems to have a healing power on me.

You’re forgetting to mention you’re very shy… Let’s see if the lady here is more talkative!

Hello there, tell me a little about yourself.

Bellinda, daughter of Joyrise, also known as Joris, and a Human. I’m half-blood and for some thirty-five years tried to fit in either with the Genn or the Human communities, sort of succeeding. As you can see, I have the body shape of a female Genn with small tits, but the round ears of Humans, and my hair is dark blond.

Where do you live?

I was born in Havenstock, capital of the Varian Kingdom, and spent a lot of time in the Genn villages of the forest of Appleyard. Our warmongering king made me want to leave, though, so now I’m exploring the northern kingdoms, starting with Salamar.

A-ha! So that’s how you bump into Hinrik? What’s your role in the story?

I’m a healer, and when Belfi brought bruised Hinrik to the camp, I had to do something! I mean, he wasn’t visibly wounded or dying, but he was upset and filled with pain…

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

I was. With Keneith. Because he’s tall and handsome and a powerful half-blood. I loved his black eyes and his smile. Then we moved together to Havenstock and things started falling apart. He’s still my best friend and traveling companion. We watch each other’s back.

Well, thank you, Hinrik and Bellinda, and good luck with your quest! May you find what you’re looking for, whatever it is…

And we have a couple here! Who wants to go first? The tall barbarian or the blond elf?

Joris: I’m a Genn, not an elf.

Whatever… so you go first! Tell me a little about yourself!

K&J4DA_resizeJoris: My name is Joyrise, but this ugly, hairy barbarian calls me Joris.

Kolia *glares* You don’t have to tell everything like that!

Joris: So what’s the point? Try to think of her as our next employer.

Kolia: Really? You’d say that to our prospective employer? And then what, that we’re lovers?

Guys, we’re getting there! Can you please stop bickering? *sighs* Since you don’t seem to want to take turns, let’s make it a joint interview. Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Kolia: I’m tall, a warrior with blue eyes.

Joris: Long blond hair, pointed ears, nothing any other Genn wouldn’t have.

And then you wonder why I call you elf. Maybe you were an elf in a previous incarnation! Do you have an enemy or nemesis? If so, who are they and how did they become an enemy?

Kolia: The Clan Cadwaller. They destroyed my family and threw me out of Caer Nittak.

Joris: No, they threw you in a dungeon, where I rescued you.

Kolia: Whatever, now I’m in exile. But one day… one day…

Joris: Yeah yeah… *rolls eyes*

Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

Kolia: Definitely! Unfortunately when I tried to fight for my town and my people, I was defeated…

Joris: Don’t look at me! I’m Genn. The Magical Races are non-violent by their very nature!

Where do you live?

Kolia: Currently in Salamar, capital of the namesake kingdom. We’re mercenaries.

You are involved in a relationship – what is it about him that you find appealing?

Kolia: He’s a wizard! And has the longest hair I ever saw! And he saved me! And…

Joris: And he kept saying “I love you” to anything I told him, how could I resist?

*chuckles* What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Kolia: Ryan Cadwaller.

Joris: You’re obsessed with him!

Kolia: No, I’m not. He is obsessed with me.

Joris: Denial, Kolia… our biggest challenge it to take this ugly hairy barbarian back to Caer Nittak.

Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourselves.

Kolia: I’m your average warrior of the northern tribes…

Joris: I actually have a small portion of dark blood. I descend from Belfi, the Immortal Half-blood. And please, don’t ask Kolia about his family. Nine surviving children, can you believe it? These Humans do nothing but breed!

Kolia: Because we’re short-lived, unlike you! Besides, nine survived into adulthood but I don’t know how many survived the Cadwaller take-over, so… I might be the only one left now!

Mm, okay, thank you guys… *shoos them off* I know them… yes, from the late 1990s… Yes! “Kolia and Joris”, the 15-issues comic book fanzine by the crazy author of this blog! Took some adjustments, then… the couple of lucky readers of that comic may recognize the story, though. Hasn’t changed much… *mutters to herself* I really hope this is the last recycled story we see from this darn author!

Cinder Boy_resizeSo, you must be the gorgeous guy on the cover of the book! Tell me a little about yourself!

Book? *stares blankly at her* My name is Rohan and I’m in my twenties, but they keep calling me Cinder Boy. I supposedly own a manor at the edge of the forest, but my stepmother will never allow me to take my late father’s place!

Oh, why do we always have evil stepmothers in fairy tales? *snorts* Let’s move on. Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

I’m tall, well built, with blue eyes.

Yes, we can see that! *chuckles* Do you have an enemy or nemesis? If so, who are they and how did they become an enemy?

I have my stepmother and my stepbrothers who are doing their best to keep me out of my father’s legacy… they treat me like a servant in my own house!

Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

I don’t have anyone left. My mother died when I was a child, my father remarried that bitch and then passed away… But if I could, I’d enter the service of the king and do my best to protect the royal family.

Where do you live?

In a manor not far from Ker Noran, a small northern kingdom on the shore of the River Wated.

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

Unfortunately no. I’m not allowed to go to the castle anymore. I live a very solitary existence.

What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Finding my father’s weapons and armor to attend the tournament for the return of Prince Kurtis, so I can show the world my worth even though I was never officially knighted.

Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

I have found a pond of warm water in the forest. I like to go there and bathe and relax after the day chores. It’s my secret place, so don’t tell anyone.

I won’t! Although the readers can admire you doing just that on the book cover, LOL! But let me get to the next guest… Another handsome young man, trust me! Tell me a little about yourself, my lord.

Prince Kurtis of Ker Noran. I’m twenty-nine, but since I decided I will not get married, my father will pass the throne to my younger brother Ewan.

Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Tall, strong and dark-haired.

What is your relationship with Rohan?

Coming back from Moriana where I’d spent three years, I saw that gorgeous young man bathing in a forest pond very close to my father’s castle. Pity he’s probably just a servant and I’m very busy catching up at Ker Noran, but as soon as things calm down, I’ll claim him.

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

I wouldn’t mind a relationship with Rohan, he looks very sweet. You might have guessed by now that I don’t want to marry because I prefer men… but so far my relationships haven’t lasted!

What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Finding out who the Nameless Knight is, and then getting to Rohan’s heart.

Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

I have Waiora friends. They’re members of one of the Magical Races, they’re water people. One of them was my first male lover and we’re still friends.

RC coverWelcome, guest! Tell me a little about yourself!

Hi, my name is Zahara Bakur. I’m fifteen years old, and I’m from New York City. I’m a Sunni Muslim, and I’m supposed to be entering my senior year of high school, but…well, things are complicated right now.

I don’t know why, but things on Earth are always complicated… *snort* Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Average height and weight, light-brown skin, blonde hair (it used to be brown). Sorry, that’s longer than ten words, isn’t it?

It’s fine, you’re the first teen who doesn’t use twitter English! *grin* Do you have an enemy or nemesis? If so, who are they and how did they become an enemy?

Um…I don’t really have anyone I would call my enemy. I mean, there are people I don’t like, but who doesn’t have someone like that? I guess if I did have an enemy though, it would probably be ignorance and bigotry. Ever since before the war, people have this tendency to believe the worst things about my faith, that we’re all out to kill ourselves and everyone around us. That’s simply not true, but I’ve had a heck of a time convincing people of that. So I guess that’s my answer.

People can be very nasty with someone who is even slightly different! Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

Kill?! Allah, no! I’m the least nonviolent person ever, and I really don’t believe in the death penalty. But if I had to die for those I love…well, I’d rather that not happen, but if it was the only way and I really cared for someone, I guesss I might.

You’re great! Where do you live(world/town/whatever)?

I used to live in New York City, but then my dad got a job in Reborn City and we moved there. We had a house in South Reborn, but these days I’m staying in West Reborn with the Hydras. I think it’s the safest place for me, truth be told. I know they’re gangsters, but they watch out for me, which is more than what I can say for anyone in South Reborn.

Interesting town name… Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

Relationship? Er, not anymore. I-I had a boyfriend in New York, but we broke up before I moved. And I’ve been too busy to really think about that sort of stuff since I got to Reborn City.

VR CS front coverA most interesting place, I’m sure! What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Well, because of…certain reasons, I had to join the Hydras, a gang in West Reborn. I’m not gangster material, not at all, and I really hate the lifestyle, but until I pay my debt to Rip, the leader of my Head—that’s like a gang branch—I can’t leave. So I guess it’s just surviving the lifestyle day to day and trying to fulfill my debt, though how I do that I’m not sure.

Mmm… I’m sure you can manage… Do you have a family? Tell me about them.

*cries* I’m sorry, but…I just recently lost my mother and father, and I have no other family. As much as I hate to admit it, the West Reborn Hydras are the only family I have right now, so…*shrugs* It is what it is.

Family is family whether you chose it or it chose you! Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

*sniff*I don’t really have unusual about me. I guess I should go with the fact that I’m only fifteen (I’ll turn sixteen in September), but I’m already a senior in high school. I should be going to college next year, though with my life the way it is, who knows?

What 2 or 3 questions do you wish I’d asked and what are your answers to them?

Um…I don’t know. I really don’t talk about myself like this. I’m just kind of flattered that anyone wants to talk to me about anything. Thanks, by the way. I really appreciate it.

You are very welcome! I wish you all the best!

Sunday Surprise

Soo! Tell me a little about yourself.

My name is Dii – Dii’Athella is the longer version. It’s elven. I’m told it means Flower of the Dawn. I’m about twenty-five summers – although I don’t know my exact age. I was taken from my true mother as an infant and given to a human family. They did not take me to raise me as their own, I was a Kept – a slave. I’m an elf – elves have no rights, no liberty, no justice in Eranan law.

Ugh. I already hate your world. Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Female, red hair, tattoos, elven, midnight blue eyes.

Lovely! Do you have an enemy or nemesis? If so, who are they and how did they become an enemy?

My Keeper Joset Tremayne. He’s the one who stole me from my mother’s arms. Although I do not know how my mother ended up in the Enclave. Joset used me….Please do not ask me the details. Let’s just say he’s very unpleasant, he’s cruel and unfeeling. He beats all his servants and slaves. By law he does nothing wrong. I was property – to be treated as he wished but surely property does not think, does not feel or hurt.

I am a sorceress – which made me doubly forbidden. The Order of Witch-Hunters rule the land, and by their law magic is illegal. Anyone caught using it can be taken and imprisoned or executed. There is no trial – I think that’s what you call it in your land. Magic is just there, it infuses the land, some people are born with it. Magic does not know it’s forbidden. How can it be forbidden – it just is. Like the sky, the sun, the moon and the gods.

I know exactly what you mean. I do have my own share of magic people of other worlds don’t understand. Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

Yes. And yes.

So tell me more about your world.

I now live in Tremellic, which is a valley community at the far edge of Erana. The Jagged Peak mountains look upon us and the Shimmering Forest guards our border.

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

Lord Archos. He is kind, clever, powerful and charming. He’s an excellent lover, a courageous fighter and a shrewd businessman. He is also a mage, our magic met and now we are more powerful together. He loves me for what I am, what I was, and what I can be.

Sounds like a dream man! What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Surviving.

I get a lot of answers like that, I wonder why… Do you have a family? Tell me about them.

Archos is my family, and his friend Olek. Olek is like the brother I never really had. Ozena lives with us too. She’s an elven huntress from a local elven community which was destroyed by slavers. It’s nice to have a female companion about the manor. My Keeper had a son – Ulric – who was sometimes kind to me. Mostly he was his father’s son and could not see me as anything more than a pretty dalliance, someone to warm his bed. He cared for his own pleasure, and the honour of their house. He was not a man. He was a child, and a petulant one at that.

Most men are – I think it’s called Peter Pan syndrome somewhere… Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

I have a tattoo which spirals from my cheek to my thigh.

Whoa, neat! What 2 or 3 questions do you wish I’d asked and what are your answers to them?

Oh gods, I do not know. Perhaps why I visit the Enclave in Varlek when I know it is a terrible place?

Varlek, one of the largest cities has an elven Enclave. I suppose in your world it would be called a ghetto. All elves must live there – unless they live in the house of their masters. It’s a terrible place, there is much disease and poverty. The Enclave is another tool of the Order of Witch-Hunters – to keep the humans and elves apart. Highlight our differences you might say. Elves and men are really not that different, there are a few cosmetic differences – elves have different ear shapes, we are slightly smaller and our features more pronounced. But elves and humans can interbreed – any child thereof is classed as a half-elf and subject to the restrictions of all elves. Even if it’s father is a lord of the land. Why did we visit the Enclave? Ozena’s sister was taken from Szendro, and often such elves end up in the Enclave, the slave markets or worse. As it happened the elves we found were not of Szendro. That’s another story – and you must read my adventures to find out who they are.

I’d not dare to enter the Enclave alone, but some humans do feel pity for the elves and bring medicine or extra food. Officially it’s not allowed but a starving, sick elf cannot work and besides disease can spread to the humans. The Witch-Hunter guards turn their eyes away if the payment is large enough. Money can buy freedom, of a sort. Or at least pity and mercy.

Archos tells me it depends on the particular guards – some turn aside. Others do not. Some of the merchants pay to the temple. The priestesses are allowed in the Enclave to give alms, bring herbs and prayers. I suppose it keeps order. Vestiges of the old religions linger and not even the Order often dare to defy the gods. It’s more, I think, they ignore it, or perhaps feel that angering the gods helps no one.

Any mage knows the gods are real, or at least were. Many do not walk the lands now, the magic is not as Powerful as once it was and so although the beliefs do linger they are often not strong. Do I believe? Yes, of course. When one has nothing but hatred and fear one looks beyond the mortal for hope. The gods are there, getting their attention – that’s another matter entirely.

Another question? What are my hopes for the future? I’m an elf – and even within Tremellic where elves are treated well it’s hard to believe we will ever be truly free. For now the Witch-Hunters ignore Tremellic – Archos pays vast bribes to keep it so but the more we interfere the more likely they are to come. My hopes for the future are to live with the man I love, and to be safe and happy. I hope for the elves to be free, but I know that is a dangerous hope. We cannot simply sit back and do nothing but for every elf we save, for every mage we help the risk of Order ‘pacification’ increases. My hopes are that we live to see another sun rise, another moon rise. I will say this – despite my fear I will never again become a prisoner of the Order. I will live as freely as I can or die trying. The Order think they rule this land, think they rule magic. Magic does not agree.

Well, thank you for your time, Dii’. I see we have another guest… Tell me a little about yourself, my good lord.

Ulric Tremayne, son of Lord Joset Tremayne of Reldfield. I am heir to the lands, and all its chattels. I am twenty-five or so. Really does it matter? As yet there is no Lady Tremayne. My mother is father’s…concubine. She is a mage – but that is of no matter. In our lands she has protection. Have I a wife? Not yet, I do not need the burden of a wife and my father is still young enough to have many years left to him and perhaps if he takes another mistress there will be another son.

I like the company of women. I am the master’s son and so if I command they warm my bed. Then there is Dii. Such a sweet creature, poor soul. But of course she’s a Kept. Property. I suppose Mama is too, if I think about it. There is no point in taking Dii as any more than the whore she is – any offspring would be half-elven bastards. Dii brings me pleasure but it can never be more than that. Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Black hair, young and handsome.

What is your role in the story?

I’m the son of Lord Joset Tremayne. When Dii runs away I go to seek her. Father has a temper, he does not treat her kindly and so if I can return her to the household I may be able to pacify him. Dii is his prize Kept, she has certain….skills, and charms. Dii brings us a goodly amount of coin. Besides it is dangerous world for a young elven woman. Dii knows nothing of it. She is safer within our house.

What is your relationship with the protagonist?

I suppose you could almost say Dii is my foster sister. Mama certainly tries to treat her as a daughter. My mother had a true born daughter once – stillborn. I don’t recall her, I was either very young or not yet born. I try and tell mother Dii is just a Kept, an elf but it doesn’t help. I worry for them both. Father could easily end his protection and Mama would have nothing, perhaps end in the Enclave prison, or worse. Dii is an elf and a mage. The Order do not look kindly on her type.

Where do you live(world/town/whatever)?

I live in Reldfield. It’s a town West of Jaeden and the city. We have other holdings but that is where my father chooses to reside.

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

I can take any girl I choose in the household or from among the Kepts. Dii is my favourite but I am a young man, I take my pleasures where I wish.

What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Finding Dii. The foolish girl ran from our protection. You’d not think it so hard to find one red-haired elven girl but she’s clever. She finds herself a protector. Dii has something about her, an allure. Many men find her irresistible.

Do you have a moral code?

I wish to protect the honour of the House of Tremayne, and of course our interests. I don’t think I’m cruel but well, elves are elves aren’t they? The law is the law.

Please give me an interesting and unusual fact about yourself.

I have an attraction towards red-haired women, but I can’t think why.

*to herself* Glad I’m a brunette! *back to Ulric* What 2 or 3 questions do you wish I’d asked and what are your answers to them?

What will I do with Dii when I find her?

I’ll bring her home. I know she fears my father but I’m sure I can placate him. At least I think so.

What do I think of the Order of Witch-Hunters?

They can be….heavy handed at times. I mean one hears stories but rumours are just that rumour. Erana can’t be an easy land to rule – there are many factions after all. They leave us alone – in fact now I think of it some of my father’s cronies wear the colours of the Order. It helps to sweeten them, after all my mother is a mage. I try and stay out of their way but I know mother and Dii fear them. The law is the law.

PrinceSplendorDTFSooooo… hello, gorgeous! Tell me a little about yourself

I’m Splendor, prince of Bold Castle. Well, I’m a prince of a small northern kingdom, close to a forest and, um… well, let’s say that I’m the most wanted bachelor of the lot, and I have two lovely ladies that I’m considering marrying, except there’s a… well, she’s the court witch and she also has a fancy on me and so… she curses me.

A-ha! A witch! A real one. This new Silvery Earth has some nice tricks! *chuckle* Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Blond and blue-eyed. I’m never sure if they like me for my looks or my title, to be honest.

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

I had two noble maidens I was interested in – before I fell askeep. Now I’m stuck with an adventurer, a warrior woman who dresses like a man and doesn’t believe in love. Still, she’s taking care of me and she’s helping me… She woke me up with a kiss, but I don’t remember much of that.

What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Finding a way of getting rid of Leondina’s curse. The alternative is making a chastity vow…

Do you have a family? Tell me about them.

I awoke after a century. My family was completely wiped out by the curse. I had a brother, who was married. And my parents were still alive when I fell asleep at twenty-two. Sometimes I still miss them…

Maybe because your companion isn’t very nice? Let’s hear the lady now. Tell me a little about yourself…

Who are you calling “lady”? I’m Billinda and I’m a fisherman’s daughter who became a warrior woman and a mercenary. I was wandering the northern kingdoms when I found Splendor’s castle and I hoped it hid some treasure, but no… I guess I’m not very lucky in life. *snort*

Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

My sword is real and I can use it.

You don’t scare me, sister. I’m not *that* kind of woman! What is your relationship with the protagonist?

I find him, I kiss him, thinking nothing except he has yummy lips…

He has! *chuckle*

I know. *grin* Next thing he wakes up and I’m stuck with him, since any other woman lusts after him and sends him back to sleep…

Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

Like he said, I don’t believe in love. Or I wouldn’t have woken him!

What is the biggest challenge you face in the story?

Finding a new home for Splendor. He’s gorgeous, but women keep falling head over heels for him, so he can’t really settle anywhere… unless he settles with a man, but I think he doesn’t like that… *wink*

Buy Prince Splendor now.

Now, what do we have here… a handsome young man and a beautiful lady! Let’s start with the bowman, swordsman, wait, what are you?

I’m both. I was captain of Lovenback Castle guards. My name is Mark and I am now an outlaw hiding in the forest.

Oh, I see… So you hide in the forest and rob the rich to give to the poor?

Let’s say I keep an eye on who travels through my lord’s fief…

Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Black hair and eyes, clean-shaven, long hair.

Do you have an enemy or nemesis? If so, who are they and how did they become an enemy?

Lord Donovan has become my enemy. After he abused of his power and… um… well, he also stole a woman I fancied and used her just to spite me, so I revolted against him. I’d be dead now if it weren’t for my friend Brendan who got me out of prison along with three other men who went against our not-so-loved lord.

Mmm… sounds more and more like Robin Hood and his merry men! So there must be a Lady Marian! Are you involved in a relationship? If so, with who and what is it about them that you find appealing?

When Lady Eleonor crossed the forest on her way to her cousin’s castle, I couldn’t avoid noticing how beautiful she is. I thought she’d be much like Lord Donovan, but she’s actually very different. She doesn’t like her haughty cousin and actually prefers me to the almighty duke – which is a nice change after all those women falling for a title or a few coins…

Would you kill for those you love? And would you die for them?

Absolutely! Currently it’s Eleonor, Brendan and the other three, David and his cousin Sebastian, and Jeffrey. We hope to get rid of our lord soon and live happily ever after.

Thank you, Mark. Now let’s hear the lady! Can you tell me a little about yourself?

I’m Eleonor of Logris, only heir of my father’s castle. My father died in a hunting accident and my relatives decided I should marry my cousin Donovan, so the fief and its vineyards would stay in the family. Even the king loves our wine, and in fact I hope to convince him to let me marry who I want.

Describe your appearance in ten words or less.

Blonde and blue-eyed, I’m a duchess and it shows.

Indeed! What is your role in the story?

I believe it’s my story – how I was taken to Lovenback and when Donovan refused to let me join a nunnery, I ran away with Mark, hiding in the forest with him.

So what is it about Mark that you like? And what is it that you hate of your cousin?

I like his sweetness and how he respects me. Mark is a real gentleman, even though he’s not noble born – unlike my cousin, who is a haughty bastard who probably doesn’t even have a heart. I’ve met plenty of young noblemen like him, and had avoided marrying them while my father was alive…

Do you think your father would have approved of Mark?

I’m not sure, but since he passed away, if the king allows me, I’ll marry him and keep sending the king our wonderful wine!

Well, let’s hope your author allows you to live happily ever after! Thank you for your time!
