Six Sentence Sunday

Happy Easter to regular and Sunday visitors!

From my latest release Chronicles of the Varian Empire – The Left-handed Warrior, here’s six sentences of how the protagonist got his “famous” belly scar (see, it’s even on the cover of the book!) – or something like that! 🙂

***

Kurt panted, dazed, in Blondsun’s arms and the healing powder entered his body and closed the nasty, mortal wound, much like it had done eight years before.

“Mother… leave… the scar…” Kurt begged.

“In memory of stupidity?” she asked, moving only her lips, her eyes never wavering from the healing.

“Revenge,” Kurt whispered, closing his eyes, exhausted.

“When Humans forget that word it will never be too late,” she sighed.

The golden powder vanished, leaving only a long scar, as she wiggled her fingers back to life.

One last bit from Allan de Sayek just to let you know of Nazir’s fate… continuing from last week.

Allan gaped. Nazir… a slave? “To whom? To do what?” he panicked.

“He’s chained to row in a galley. You will not see him, ever, again.”

“Thank the Gods!” Allan joined his hands and looked at the painted ceiling, relieved.

“But I did punish him and will also punish you,” his father continued.

“You haven’t hurt him… physically, have you?” Allan worried his father could have made a eunuch out of his lover.

“No, I sold him as a slave.”

When he awoke the sun was high and his father stood next to the bed, arms folded over his chest, wearing a frown that didn’t allow much hope.

Allan pulled himself up, gathering his wits. “Father, where is Nazir? Please tell me you haven’t killed him, as I am the one to blame.”

Prince Ahmed’s lips twitched as if he had repressed a smile. “No, I haven’t killed him, Allan.”

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello, Sunday visitors. I’m participating in a blogfest this weekend, so I’m posting six sentence from the WiP I’d like to be considered in the blogfest. Six sentences from Chronicles of the Varian Empire – The Left-handed Warrior.

***

The Varian ships were allowed to berth in the harbors of the Amazons Country, but the crews were forbidden to leave the trade area that divided the port from the proper town. Slaves were transferred in a big warehouse until the sale.
Kurt disembarked with the other prisoners, unable to catch a glance of Beth. He began to worry for his friend’s health, but he doubted the captain had killed her. He must rescue himself first, though, then he could think of hunting down the Varian captain and free her as well.
He waited to be on put on sale, wondering who would buy him and how he could get away from his master.

Like the previous post from this WiP, it’s a six sentence scene. There’s only two of them, though, so that’s all! 🙂

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello, Sunday visitors! Did you miss me during the past two weeks? I certainly missed joining the fun…

So, without further ado, from my latest release Chronicles of the Varian Empire – The Spell, six sentences about the spell of the title.

***

She was sick of tricking him into her arms by assuming someone else’s look. He was right, he’d never know her real face. But he could grow fond of “good old Pearl” if only…
Then she had an idea. What if she sent him in the future, when his Human friends and relatives were all dead and she could be the only face he knew and could turn to? It wouldn’t make much difference for her and she could end her life with him…

Six sentence Sunday

Six sentences standalone scene from my WiP “The Left-handed Warrior”.

Silverstar stared at the dark-haired girl, pondering. She was definitely Kurt’s sister, but she had a humility and sweetness he totally lacked. In spite of the almost ten years gap between the Genn and the Human girl, their minds were at the same age level. But she was already pregnant, marked by adulthood like he wasn’t yet.

Silverstar felt pity for her. Kurt’s pale shadow quietly entered his heart.

This WiP is the second book of the Chronicles of the Varian Empire and should come out in April.
