Wednesday Weekly Roundup

Last week I wrote a whopping 11K and the longest story of this lot (still under 10K), which also gave me a couple of ideas for one of the longer projects I have in mind. Until the end of the month I’m writing a few more shorts, probably until Easter, then I’ll move on to longer works, so my wordcount should increase accordingly.

I also checked what is ready and what is still to be done. I might be able to publish six titles in the second half of this year, all standalone, and keep the next mini-series for next year (although I’ll obviously start writing them now). I will probably start in July with a novella, then I have short story collections, serial novels and a couple of standalone short novels. Stay tuned!

I spent some time checking publishers, since in May there will be a comic con where we can have professional meeting. I hope to see a strip in print in Italy, since at the moment they’re all only in English (except for Silvery Earth Kids). This is because I didn’t see their call for the self-area on time, but they kept advertising these “jobs”, so I thought I’d give it a try.

Next year I hope to be able to book a table in the self-area. I had actually booked it in 2020, when everything was canceled. Back then they had told me they’d keep me on file for future editions, but clearly they forgot, so two more cons happened and I skipped them. Oh, well. Next year hopefully I’ll have also at least another book to bring!

I have booked a couple of trips, so I’ll be able to take a break soon. Now it’s back to the routine… Have a great week!

Glad you got a good chunk of writing done, and managed to book a couple of trips. I need to get caught up on your books. Any spare time turners lying around? I could use one.

Between de-cluttering and organizing ready for the inspection, the inspection happening, and other things, my word count remains at zero. I miss getting my writing time, but by the time I’ve done everything else I don’t have the mental energy for it. Carving out actual time is doable, but apparently having the mental energy to do anything with that time when I do is another matter. Even my reading is going slower than is normal for me. *sigh*

    • I hear you. I spent the past two days procrastinating, and only today did I manage to start the next story. And I didn’t go very far.
On the other hand, we’re decluttering the office, so I’m training for when I’ll have to put everything in boxes in my own house and move, LOL! At least I don’t have to deal with people with this temporary archivist job! 😉
I’ve started another book, but it’s definitely romance, and I’m definitely aromantic these days. But there’s some time travel involved, so I’ll keep going for now.
No time turners lying around at this time, unfortunately… and spring isn’t helping, is it? It’s cold in the morning, hot at lunchtime and damn, I need to move out of this country!
      Hugs

YAY for not having to deal with people. 😉

Yeah, Spring isn’t helping. One minute it’s cold and wet, and the next it’s warm and dry. Thankfully it’s sticking with not getting hot, but it’s enough of a weather and temperature shift to aggravate my asthma, which hates when the weather changes, especially if it keeps doing so. Ugh! Still, I’m glad we’re back in Wales where it likes cold and damp more than hot most of the time… Apart from that awful part when our Summer shows up and I wish the UK would embrace the idea of air conditioning. LOL!

Have you decided where you’ll move to yet?

        • Unfortunately I don’t think I’ ll be able to move anytime soon, but I may end up either in northern France or England (Scotland?) – at least I eon’t have to learn a fourth language! 😁
          We’ll see… 😏

Sorry it won’t be any time soon, but hopefully the day will come sooner than you think. 🙂

And, for the record, you can manage just fine in Wales without learning Welsh… A lot of people in Wales don’t actually speak it. Just so you know. 😉

            • LOL! I know, I have quite a few friends in England already, and none in France, so we’ll see!
