Final wordcount for 2021 was 470K. Now, for this year’s goals… here goes, in this order!
- write as much as I can (if I reach 500K fine, if not, it doesn’t matter), having fun and exploring new places, probably as short stories first.
- draw more than I did last year – finish the strip and do a few more pencil portraits. Possibly start a new comic or continue Lady Ice, not sure which yet. Finish the strip comes first!
- publish whatever I finish – or send it to other publications if it doesn’t fit in any series or collection. But that’s really a third. I must try to keep my creative mind busy, so I won’t feel the DayJob stress too much.
And now, the first publications of the year! Vampires Through the Centuries Going Into the Future only on Amazon, because, like I said on the publisher’s page, I did the ebook only because I did the paperback. So the last two publications are now in KU. Those single stories are available everywhere elsewhere if you read only ebooks.
And my short story “An iCub on Mars” was accepted for Space Opera Digest 2022: Have Ship Will Travel! And looky look! I’m even on the cover! And yes, it’s still on pre-order, you will get it at the end of January so I’ll make sure to remind you! Meanwhile, here’s the editor:

/ 05/01/2022That’s an excellent word count all things considered. And I love your goals for the year.
I’m not doing an official goal list for 2022, but my writerly goal essentially boils down to, “Write as often as I can – focussing on the enjoyment of the process – and publish whatever I finish when it’s ready.” Actually, that’s essentially what my goals boil down to in general: do as much as I can of the things I enjoy, focus on enjoying them, and share any products that result from the process – whether during it or after it’s completion – with people when appropriate. I feel like how the last couple of years have been means I need to remove the pressure of a list of actual goals, and allow myself to just enjoy the process freely. It’s not like I’m short of books to promote while I take my time enjoying writing the next one after all.

/ 05/01/2022I have published 25-30 titles per year for 9 years straight, so I do have plenty of “inventory” out anyway. So these two, possibly three years I’m going to take it easy on the publishing, because I’m in transition, so I need to write at my own pace, and not worry about publication or stuff. I know I’m productive anyway, and can’t stay too many days without writing! 😉
