Wednesday Weekly Roundup

Last week I traveled to Spain, searching for inspiration, and even slept in a castle, which I might include in either my next high fantasy series or in the sequel of The Fern and The Cross, since I already had in mind to make the second generation to leave England, cross France and Arab-occupied Spain, reach northern Africa, not sure he gets to Palestine, but he definitely ends up in Italy. And the third generation will leave it on the Silk Roads with the Polo brothers.

But I’m not ready to write that saga just yet, because it would need a lot of research and I feel I have an already low wordcount this year, LOL! This is probably NOT going to be a writing week either, since I’m finishing the translation and publishing a new title, but hopefully next week at the latest I’ll get to the story I went to Madrid for.

I also have to start on the strips I want to publish next year, so hopefully I’ll finish them by the end of the year. Next week, we’ll see. Everything happening in the world and at work is really draining me, but I have good hopes of leaving the day job in a couple of years with an early retirement, and then I might get back to that historical saga! 😉

I posted something on TikTok and Instagram, in case you want to check them, and I could add a slideshow here, but well… too lazy to do it! 😉 I guess that’s all for today! Have a great week!

Wednesday weekly roundup

So, last week I was off for my first trip out of Italy since the pandemic, but I did manage to write almost 3K, longhand on a small notebook that I tiped when I got back home on Sunday. So I reached 350K this year and may reach 400K, but definitely not 500K. Although, there’s still four months, so you never know! 🙂

I also somehow reached 500 likes on my Facebook page (thank you very much) and keep getting new subscribers to this very blog, so welcome! 🙂 Gearing up for the next release, since I have to travel again to get my parents back to Rome (Saturday was a bad day for traveling – the train line was interrupted and Techie Bro couldn’t get to Tuscany and I arrived back in Rome at 2.30am instead of half past midnight), so I’ll go since I’m still of Day Job until next week.

The trip was a group tour of a part of England I hadn’t visited (not that I saw much besides London and the medieval castles easily reachable from there, LOL!). We went to Salisbury, Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Mount St Michael, Glastonbury, St Ives, Tintagel and Stonehenge (the order might be slightly wrong, I’m not checking my schedule), and I came back with a couple of books for future research.

I also had time to read another book before plunging back into Dragons of Immortalands, and I recommended it on Bookbub, as usual. I wasn’t the target audience, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Worldcon came and went without me, although I got a link for the virtual part even though I had donated my membership. I passed that on too, since I really wasn’t in the mood for it.

This week I hope to finish a few projects, but I probably won’t make it with Book 5, so I’ll have to ask Mighty Editor to postpone the second week of editing. It should be done on time anyway.

I may put up the pre-order of the other books whenever I finish book 5, but so far pre-orders haven’t really worked for me. But! It’s been ten years, and things might have changed, so… pre-orders it will be for the other books! 🙂

That’s all for today! Have a great week!

Wednesday Weekly Roundup

Last chance to get this awesome bundle! It ends soon, so get it right now! And if you don’t have enough, there’s also The 2021 Adventure SF Bundle, curated by bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson as well as The Many Worlds of Weird Fiction Bundle, curated by Robert Jeschonek. And if you’re a writer, there’s still time for The 2021 NaNoWriMo Writing Tools Bundle, curated by Kevin J. Anderson – all of these make also for great gifts for your loved ones who read a lot (or if you have a loved one who is a writer)! 😀

Last week I wrote more thatn 13K on the latest project. I hope to finish a first draft this week, so I can go through it next week, when I won’t be writing much because I’ll be traveling. I’m bringing the writing computer and hope to write to related short stories, but we’ll see. Meanwhile Mighty Editor will be busy working for me so you can get that last title for the Holidays – another Themed Collection.

This new project will probably be finished by the end of the year, so hopefully it will see publication at the beginning of 2022 – February at the latest. I still have to book the Mighty Editor for next year and she might already be full in January.

Last week I had 24hours in which I hoped to get rid of DayJob by February 2022, but unfortunately the hope vanished quickly. I’m still hoping to be able to get rid of it by 2023, and I know time will fly even if it seems to crawl on. Like, we’re already at the end of November, tomorrow it’s Thanksgiving for my American friends, where did this year go?

I’m glad it’s almost over, though. I may have mentioned it was worse than last year for me, so I’m glad it’s behind. Next week I’m off through Northern Italy to relax in a hotel for a few days. I miss traveling, but at the same time, seeing all those videos of people with or without masks getting kicked off planes and so on, as well as having to wear a mask on the train… sheesh!

Also, the travel agent in my suburb closed after Covid. So we’ll see. I can book a flight or a hotel from home, but I wanted to explore more of Europe with tour groups, so we’ll see. Maybe I’ll have to stay put until 2023 anyway, LOL! Have a great week!

Happiness is…

Walking in my characters’ path in London while I was writing The Fern and The Cross (as pictured above) or in Chittorgarh a few years later, looking for my vampires… 😉
